Choosing the Accessories

Now is the time to choose the accessories for your tuxedos. His is where you get to customize items to coordinate with bridesmaid’s dress colors, ribbon color, or any other color theme you may be using. You have several options to choose from:

Cummerbunds – Cummerbunds are the pleated belts worn around the waist. They are worn with matching bow ties and are considered the most conservative way to dress the men. Remember always keep the pleats up.

Fashion Vests – Most wedding parties are choosing to rent fashion vests with their tuxedos. Vests offer a variety of colors and patterns to help compliment any theme you may have chosen. Fullback vests gives a more dressed look when the jacket is not being worn. Boys and larger sizes will usually come in the backless, bib type cut to accommodate most fitting challenges. Some wedding parties that are dealing with extreme climate issues will sometimes use the fullback vest instead of jackets to accommodate for excessive heat.

Fashion Ties – The type of shirt you have chosen will dictate what neckwear options you choose from. Bow ties can we worn with either the wing tip collar or spread collar shirts while long ties look best with the spread collar shirt. Long ties have been the fashion for many years but the bow tie is making a comeback in popularity as recently as this year’s Academy Awards.

Here are some helpful hints in choosing the formal accessories for your wedding:

·         When choosing accessories for the Groom, choose white, ivory, or black to compliment the color of the Bride’s gown.
·         When the flower girl’s dress is similar to the Bride, dress the ring bearer similar to the Groom. If the flower girl is dressed like the bridesmaids, dress the ring bearer similar to the groomsmen.
·         When choosing accessories for the groomsmen, look for a color to compliment the color fo the bridesmaids dresses, don’t be hung up on matching the color.
·         When choosing accessories for the escort and fathers, black compliments the color of most any color dress they might be photographed with and also serves as a way to distinguish them as a special member of the wedding party.

Here are the three different types of fit available in todays tuxedos: Classic Fit -Classic is the term designated for the least trim of the three fits. It is also the most traditional and will look good on men of all sizes and shapes. This tuxedo typically comes with matching double pleated pants adding to the fuller look. Distinguishing The Father of The Bride With A Tuxedo Rental | Suit Rental   Dressing the escort or father of the bride is an important aspect to the wedding attire. After all, they will be the first person that your guests will see the bride with and should be dressed similarly to the wedding party. This topic my be a little biased for me. I am a father of 3 beautiful young ladies and I look forward to the day I am able to walk them down the aisle. I am always amazed when a bride has not given thought to what the person giving her away will wear. A lot of brides will have their fathers dressed in tuxedos or suits that are the same as the wedding party and use their accessories to really highlight them as a special person in the party. Neutral colors like black and grey are always a great choice because no matter who he might be taking pictures with his accessories will complement any colors in that photo. It also will work as a way to make him different than everyone else. S
